We are always proud of the sites that we create. We put a lot of time, energy, creativity and brain power into building each site. But this time we are especially excited about our newest site, www.hopeworks.org. Continue reading to find out some of the features that we put into our brand new site.
We like to make it easy for our clients to maintain and update their sites. Ideally, they shouldn’t have to know any HTML or own any special software to update their site. Although we build websites, we wanted to build our new site with the same ideas in mind. With that goal in mind, we built a site that can be updated completely through the WordPress administrative backend.
Our home page is completely widget based. That means that we don’t have to mess around with the site’s code to update any of the features on the home page. Again, we just log into the admin panel and update whatever features we want, without having to FTP any files for editing.
Our home page also features an “Upcoming Events” section. This section is automatically populated with events that we’ve placed on our Google calendar. This means that we only have to enter these events once. No more double entry! This also means that people can subscribe to our calendar and get notifications of new events or event changes.
People can also subscribe to our site’s blogs. Because the new Hopeworks site is built on top of WordPress, blogging and social networking are built right into it. We can integrate Facebook and Twitter into our site, as well as numerous other social networking techniques. It couldn’t be easier!
