Holy Trinity School New Site

We’re excited to reveal the launching of Holy Trinity School! The site we created for this organization incorporates a simple background with an advanced body. This site uses an image collage, on its home page, in which the images rotate so that the viewer can witness different aspects of the schools community. The site also includes a list of essential student/parent accessible topics such as “School News” and “Upcoming Events”, as well as a Google powered calender used for the same purpose. Lastly, it also applies a login capability whereas students and teachers can access personal information.

Notre Dame High School Site Launched

Here at Hopeworks it brings us great joy to announce the launching of Notre Dame High School. Notre Dame High Schools’ purpose is to provide affordable catholic education for families with limited income. This site, which was built using Drupal, incorporates an image slide show on the homepage, as well as links for their recent news and upcoming events. One cool aspect of this site is that it also is integrated with Facebook, Linkedin, and additionally Twitter. Notre Dame High Schools site is very informative about the education their school provides.

Goodwill Recycle Blog Launched

The Hopeworks Web Production Team is proud to announce the launching of the latest blog site for Goodwill NJ. This site allows for each user to have their very own individual login to post information onto their blog, which may be viewed by all others. The most recent post will automatically appear on the home page; while preceding post will remain available on the site with just the click of a button.

Group Relations Conference Site Launched

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Group Relations: “The Predicament of Joining with Others to Get Things Done” Conference website. Let’s take a look inside to see some of the site’s great features.

The Center for the Study of Groups and Social Systems needed a small, brochure style website to provide information on their upcoming conference. Despite the relatively small number of pages, we wanted to make it easy for them to update their site, in case any information about the conference changes, without them having to rely upon additional software or even us. For that reason, we built their site on top of the easy-to-use WordPress content management system.

Because their site is built using WordPress, the Center for the Study of Groups and Social Systems is able to update and modify just about everything on their site. Custom widgets were built for the home page to make editing its info easier. And each page within the site is as simple to edit as any standard word processing document.

The Center for the Study of Groups and Social Systems also has a Facebook fan page for their conference. In order to integrate that page together with their website, we embedded a Facebook status feed into their site’s sidebar. Any updates to their Facebook page will be reflected on their website, as well.

New Site Launched… for Hopeworks!

We are always proud of the sites that we create. We put a lot of time, energy, creativity and brain power into building each site. But this time we are especially excited about our newest site, www.hopeworks.org. Continue reading to find out some of the features that we put into our brand new site.

We like to make it easy for our clients to maintain and update their sites. Ideally, they shouldn’t have to know any HTML or own any special software to update their site. Although we build websites, we wanted to build our new site with the same ideas in mind. With that goal in mind, we built a site that can be updated completely through the WordPress administrative backend.

Our home page is completely widget based. That means that we don’t have to mess around with the site’s code to update any of the features on the home page. Again, we just log into the admin panel and update whatever features we want, without having to FTP any files for editing.

Our home page also features an “Upcoming Events” section. This section is automatically populated with events that we’ve placed on our Google calendar. This means that we only have to enter these events once. No more double entry! This also means that people can subscribe to our calendar and get notifications of new events or event changes.

People can also subscribe to our site’s blogs. Because the new Hopeworks site is built on top of WordPress, blogging and social networking are built right into it. We can integrate Facebook and Twitter into our site, as well as numerous other social networking techniques. It couldn’t be easier!

Bagel Grove Site Launched

The Hopeworks Web Production Team has just launched the new website for Bagel Grove, Utica NY’s authentic bagelry. The new site features integration with Google calendars, the WordPress content management system, and the Magento shopping cart and product management package. Visitors to the site can take a virtual tour, learn more about Bagel Grove’s history, discover the “Bagel of the Day,” and order bagels online for both pick-up and delivery.

Camden Map Delivered to Local Businesses

The 2010 Camden Street Map Team at Hopeworks ‘N Camden have been out delivering copies of the 2010 Camden Street Map to local businesses and organizations. Jonathan Lugo and Erika Sanchez, two members of the Street Map Team, traveled to local businesses throughout the area, who have so far asked for over 1,200 maps to distribute for free to their customers. Camden Map-On to the Printer

Every year Hopeworks’ GIS department updates and publishes a street map of the city of Camden, NJ. Each year new features are added, streets are updated, and generous sponsors contribute to make the Camden Map possible. And we are proud to report that the map has been finalized and sent to the printer, where thousands of copies will be printed. Stay tuned to find out when we receive the delivery of maps and when they will be available.

New Hopeworks Main Site (coming soon…)

We couldn’t launch a new site for our web design and GIS services without putting together something special for the rest of Hopeworks. And that something special is a shiny new website that will become Hopeworks’ main website.

The current Hopeworks website is a couple of years old, and while it served its purpose diligently during those years, it’s time for something new and fresh. Instead of the Drupal content management system that the current site is using to serve up and manage its content, the new site will be run on WordPress. We feel that this switch will allow us to better manage our content, as well as better connect our social networking efforts.

The new site will be launching in the coming months, and we will be sure to let everyone know about it.

New Hopeworks Business Site

We are excited to present to everyone the new Hopeworks Business site, where we can showcase our latest work and concentrate more on the services that we offer.

For the last 10 years, we’ve highlighted our services on our standard Hopeworks website. While that worked well enough to give clients and potential clients an overview of what the business side of Hopeworks provides, it didn’t really provide the best venue for displaying our work and discussing current and future projects.

This new site, on the other hand, will allow us to concentrate our efforts on providing our visitors with a better idea of what we have to offer. We’ll be able to make blog posts that are more relevant to the types of things our clients are interested in: technology and the latest web trends. This will also help us to rank higher in the search engines by making this site entirely about our web design and GIS services. So, take a look around and let us know what you think.
